If you miss a dose of Afrin, because it is used only as needed for congestion, you can simply use your next spray when symptoms return.
Do not "double up" or use extra sprays to make up for a missed dose.
Per OTC labeling, keep usage within the usual limit of no more than twice in 24 hours.
If you're approaching the 3-day mark of use, avoid extending the schedule—resume your usual plan without adding extra doses.
If more than the labeled amount was used, contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 right away. For children or if the product was swallowed, seek urgent medical care immediately.

Because Afrin is an over-the-counter nasal spray, many insurance plans do not cover it. Even with insurance, people usually pay the retail price out of pocket. Some plans with flexible spending accounts may allow reimbursement, but this varies by provider.
Prices vary by pharmacy, dose, location, and insurance plan and may have changed since this page was written. Contact your pharmacy or insurance provider for current pricing.
Most Afrin products are sold over the counter, so insurance typically isn't involved. Without coverage, prices are still fairly modest. Store-brand or generic oxymetazoline versions are often available at a lower price per bottle.
